Matthew Chatelain

President

Matt is a 3L from Providence, RI. He studied Political Science and minored in Psychology at Suffolk University. Currently, he is one of the 3L representatives for the Student Bar Association, a student rep for BARBRI, and a member of multiple organizations on campus. In his spare time, he enjoys working out, hanging with friends, and watching movies. Feel free to reach out anytime!

Celina Andrade

Vice President

Celina comes from a large Cape Verdian family in Brockton, MA. She studied Political Science and English at UMASS Dartmouth before coming to RWU. Celina is a 3L and member of the moot court team. During her down time, she enjoys listening to thought provoking podcasts, exploring museums, and spending time with her family.

Ameratu Kamara

Treasurer

Ameratu is a 3L from Alexandria, Virginia. She studied Forensic Crime Scene Investigation at Virginia Commonwealth University, and minored in Political Science. She is currently a member of Moot Court, and many other organizations on campus. During her free time, she likes to produce beats, watch documentaries, and break ankles on the basketball court.

Brooklyn Crockton

Historian

Brooklyn is a 2L student from Rochester, NY interested in corporate and criminal law. For Brooklyn, BLSA provides the opportunity for her to help connect students of color who feel alone or like they don't belong, to the BLSA community. She seeks to help support our members and make sure they understand BLSA is always here.

Tara I. Allen

Faculty Advisor

Allen is an Associate Professor of Law at Roger Williams University School of Law where she teaches Evidence, Criminal Procedure, Criminal Law, and Trial Advocacy. She was an Assistant Federal Public Defender, first with the Eastern District of California, then the Western District of Pennsylvania and, most recently, the District of Rhode Island. Prior to joining the Federal Defenders organization Allen was a supervising staff attorney for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in San Francisco and a law clerk for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in New York City.
